Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our approach
Getting Started
Traditional organizing often imposes rigid systems and expects you to change your habits to fit them. Our soft order approach inverts this: we observe how you naturally live and create flexible systems that support your existing patterns. The result is organization that feels effortless because it works with you, not against you.
If you've tried rigid organizational systems that didn't stick, if you value comfort over perfection, or if you're looking for sustainable rather than dramatic change, soft order might be perfect for you. We offer complimentary 30-minute discovery calls to discuss your specific situation and determine if we're a good fit.
Start by scheduling a complimentary discovery call through our contact page. We'll discuss your current challenges, what you're hoping to achieve, and whether our approach aligns with your needs. There's no pressure or commitment—just an honest conversation about whether we can help.
Programs & Process
It varies by program and individual needs. Our Foundation Workshop is a single half-day session, while our Loose Organization program typically runs 3 months, and Adaptable Systems extends to 6 months. We believe in gentle, sustainable change rather than quick fixes, so we work at a pace that ensures new habits truly take root.
Usually, very little. We prefer to work with what you already have and only recommend purchasing items when truly necessary. Our focus is on systems and habits, not products. When storage solutions are needed, we help you choose flexible, quality items that will serve you for years.
Never. We don't believe in forced minimalism or arbitrary rules about how much you should own. If decluttering happens, it emerges naturally from understanding what genuinely serves you. Many clients find they want to let go of things once they have better systems, but this is always your choice, made at your own pace.
We work with both! Family dynamics are always considered when creating household systems. For families, we ensure systems work for everyone's habits and needs, not just one person's preferences. Children's input is valued and incorporated age-appropriately.
Practical Details
We offer both options. In-person consultations are available in Frome and surrounding areas. For clients outside our region, we've developed effective virtual programs using video calls, photo sharing, and detailed observation guides. Many aspects of our work—pattern analysis, system design, ongoing support—translate beautifully to remote collaboration.
Rates vary by program and are discussed during your discovery call. We offer payment plans for longer programs to make our services accessible. Investment ranges from £150 for the Foundation Workshop to comprehensive packages for full home transformations. Every program includes ongoing support to ensure your systems remain functional.
Less than you might think. Initial sessions range from 2-4 hours. Implementation happens gradually in your daily life—we're not asking you to spend weekends reorganizing. Follow-up sessions are typically 1-2 hours monthly or quarterly, depending on your program. The goal is to create systems that save you time, not consume it.
Results & Expectations
Then we adjust it! Flexibility is built into our approach. If something isn't working, that's valuable information. We'll observe what's happening, understand why the friction exists, and adapt the system accordingly. There's no "failure" in this process—only learning and refinement.
That depends on your preferences, but it's not our goal. We aim for spaces that feel calm and function beautifully while still looking lived-in and personal. Magazine-perfect styling often sacrifices comfort and functionality. We're more interested in how your space feels than how it photographs.
Because our systems align with your natural habits, maintenance is largely automatic. You'll also learn observation and adjustment skills during our work together, so you can modify systems as your life changes. Many clients continue with our Everyday Adjustments program for ongoing support, but it's not required—you'll have the tools to maintain and evolve your systems independently.
